With a dramatic development of transport system in 19th century, traveling became extremely popular among wealthy population.
Travel bags were expected to have both style and functions including durability and practicality.
The ‘coated canvas’, was then created by treating the ordinary canvas with rubber-like materials to achieve increased durability.
It is also water and dirt resistant, lightweight and the best of all, it has a beautifully elegant appearance.

In 2005, Hervé Chapelier created his original material by embossing pebble-like design on this high-quality material, which he later made GP bags with.
GP line carried on the same simple, timeless design from previous design with addition of prominent elegance, and now is one of the most iconic bags from Hervé Chapelier.
