As the signs of spring grow stronger day by day, I find myself growing more excited for the season’s arrival. How have you all been?

Recently, I visited the “Tate Museum Exhibition — YBA & BEYOND: British Art of the 90s that Changed the World,”currently being held at The National Art Center, Tokyo. Although it may reveal my age a little, I belong to the generation that experienced this era in real time. Since my very first trip abroad was also to the UK, the exhibition brought back many nostalgic memories and allowed me to reconnect with the atmosphere of that time.

After returning home, I couldn’t resist pulling out old issues of THE FACE , Dazed & Confused and i-D from my bookshelf, once again appreciating the striking graphics and layouts.　

Recently, there has been a revival screening of 『Trainspotting』, along with live performances in Japan by Pulp and Underworld earlier this year — it truly feels like a resurgence of 90s UK culture. And as was recently announced, Massive Attack will be performing at Fuji Rock Festival this year!

Back in my student days, I attended the very first Fuji Rock Festival hoping to see Massive Attack, only for the event to be cancelled due to heavy rain… I’d love to finally make it back to Fuji Rock this year, if everything works out 🗻

日に日に、春が近づいてるのを感じて嬉しくなってる今日この頃ですが、皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

先日、新国立美術館で開催されている“テート美術館　ーYBA &BEYOND 世界を変えた90’’s 英国アート”展に行ってきました。年代がバレてしまうかもしれませんがまさにこの時代を通ってきた世代であり、初めての海外旅行もイギリスだった私にとって、この90年代を肌で感じていたのでとても懐かしい気持ちになりました。帰宅後、思わず本棚にあったTHE FACEやDazed & Confused,i-Dをだしてみていました。グラフィックやレイアウトのかっこよさを改めて実感しました。

最近では『Trainspoting』がリバイバル上映していたり年始にPULPやUnderworldがLIVEしていたのが記憶に新しいですよね。そして先日発表されましたが、今年のフジロックにはMASSIVE ATTACKが来日します学生の時代にMASSIVE ATTACKが観たくて初開催のフジロックに挑んだもののまさかの雨天中止。。。今年はそのリベンジとしてフジロックに参戦できたらいいなと思っています🗻
